About Amy (Amelia)

Born and raised in Malibu, California, Amy (Amelia) Williams has spent her life creating with a pencil or paint brush in hand while breathing in the beauty of the great outdoors.

Focused on the future of creative material innovation and industry change, Amy is purpose driven to "do" things well with the highest level of integrity possible. Collaboration is key, she is a champion for individual creative growth as well as team development. A practical visionary who can left-brain a right-brained project to deliver it creatively outside of the box on time and to budget. Amy's passion for guiding fashion entrepreneurship into a sustainable future shapes her consultancy focus. Confronting the challenges of fashion practice through a design brief or by generating a process plan is as exciting as a wide open run of fresh snow.

Passionate about delivering desirable product through innovation and best practices, Amy has become an advocate for sustainability through her years in practice. She has seen it done “wrong” and is determined to help design teams do “right” aligning purpose with practice for the future of the planet and it’s peoples. She is the Designer Director of  DUCKWORTHco, the Montana based #sheeptoshelf natural technical apparel company. Her design studio and label amelia°williams creations have been sold in FredSegal's, Scoop, Big Drop, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom’s, Barney's, and graced the pages of WWD, CApparel News, Vogue, Elle and Glamour to name just a few.

Amy Williams received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design/The New School of Social Research in Fashion Design, her certificate in Design Leadership from California College of the Arts and is a candidate in University of Southern California’s Organizational Change and Leadership EdD program.

Amy mentored dozens of emergent design thinkers in aesthetics and futures thinking as Program Chair and associate professor of CCA's Fashion Design program. Under her leadership, CCA's Fashion Design program rose to top national and international ranking, supported by a creative handpicked faculty team. Continuing her passion in the classroom, Amy is an adjunct professor with the College of Art and Architecture at Montana State University, Bozeman.

Amy is founding board member of the Fashion Incubator of San Francisco, a Textile Exchange Board member and advisory board chair of re / GENERATE from Berlin, Germany.
